Straight-forward and to the point. This book gives a good introduction for Westerners into writing Arabic script. It's not set up like a textbook; if you would want to repeat the examples to become better, I would recommend not writing in the book, and maybe making photocopies or just use a notebook. However, this isn't a textbook. It's just a brief introduction into writing Arabic script, that's all. It does it's job well.
