A cute book that teaches the mathematical concept of balance.

Okay. So. I really need to make a felt board to this book. Oh my goodness. What a great way to teach kids about balance and other STEM concepts.

Growth: A Journal to Welcome Personal Change from Susie Ghahremani is less what I think of as a journal and more of what I think of as a goal planner, though more motivational that strictly nuts and bolts. As such, I think it is a wonderful journal, just not what I was hoping for.

I have been journaling for a long time with just a few periods of not doing so. They range from using some sort of structure to something closely related to a diary except more reflective and less "this happened today." So what I was looking for was something that might offer some prompts to help me on my off days when my mind just doesn't want to engage. This didn't really give me that but some of them were variations of things I have used and it did me good to be reminded of them. So even for me this was far from a waste of time.

If you're looking to make change and you have an idea what you want to do, I think this will be a great help for you. It combines an aesthetically pleasing presentation with tried and true prompts and ideas to help keep your goal in sight while also acknowledging that nothing ever happens as smoothly as we would like.

While I ended up not having a lot of use for it, I do highly recommend this to many people who might not be used to putting things in writing. Whether ideas, goals, plans, or just general thoughts, getting into the habit of writing things down, especially within some sort of structure, helps a lot. This journal offers a wonderful structure geared specifically to fine-tuning your goal and moving toward it.
