Book Discussion: Dragon Slippers à Hogwarts Express (Mars 2010)

Critiques

This was my one-chapter-a-week book and it stood up to being read thus -- it was easy to slip back into.

It is about Celie, an eleven-year-old princess who lives in a castle prone to changing and rearranging rooms. When her parents and eldest brother fail to return from a trip and are presumed dead, Celie and her older siblings have to rely on Celie’s knowledge of the castle’s quirks and secrets to protect their home from those who want to seize control.

This was rather delightful. Definitely a case of #send back in time to my younger self… (plus d'informations)

My kids and I were completely sucked into the story on a recent road trip. The castle randomly adds or takes away rooms when it wants. The siblings are creative and supportive of each other. Even though they are defending themselves against a siege and someone trying to steal the crown, it never gets too scary. A wonderful adventure story!

I may come back to this, but I'm over halfway and other than a train ride, nothing has happened. That on top of a completely weird, seemingly out of character lack of sympathy shown at extreme bodily harm just turned me off.
