A Walking Tour of Moncton, New Brunswick, by Doug Gelbert, immediately caught my eye as Moncton is my home town. Now, full disclosure, having grown up there, I did not expect to be impressed by this book, but happily discovered that it covers more than a few items that I had no idea existed. Go figure!

This is a great little tomb – part of a series – that will be the perfect tool for anyone strolling through downtown Moncton in search of local history. The ‘Hub of the Maritimes’ certainly has plenty to offer, from the misspelling that created its name to the Tidal Bore.
