-The book traces the fate of Republican congressman Claude Lebrand, hailing from an imaginary district in the South. Having barely survived the last election, he ends up in a coma after a heart attack. A host of characters start to fight over his seat, open by special election. The writer is a former Nixon aide so he has seen the good and the bad for sure. The maneuvering and general out-of-touch state of all those in American politics couldn’t be more poignant. Written in the style of Ishmael Reed without the gibberish or obtuse structure, this is a good effort and an enjoyable read.… (plus d'informations)
