An excellent little booklet of local history. The Bleasdale Reformatory School on the edge of the Bowland Forest. A short history of concerns about growing juvenile crime in Victorian England and the Reformatory School movement as a response. That response being typically Victorian by being driven by Christian motivated philanthroph from the rich of the newly industrialising economy. A very neat piece of research, well written up.
