Graves of Retribution
(City of Bones #3)
by Lina Gardiner
This is a book I requested from NetGalley and the review is voluntary. I have read a few of this author's books before and love them and this one was excellent too! A thrilling fantasy with a vampire cop and her boyfriend that is...something else. They are in France where they had just helped out clearing out a demon horde. They met friends there and decide to help with a serial killer case. This case gets very crazy fast! I don't want to spoil it but this has a terrific plot, it's unpredictable, exciting, character driven, and a wonderful way to spend my time!… (plus d'informations)

Action and romance abound in this story of vampire fighters versus powerful vampires. Working from within the NYPD this unit of vampire fighters tries to learn why vampires are showing themselves and banding together against humans.

Grave Expectations is the 4th book in the vampire hunter series but it is not necessary for you to read the others to be able to know what is going on. The author catches you up so you can dive right in. Once you read this you will want to read the rest of the books, I am sure of it! The story continues with the strong female lead character, Jess, who is a vampire who hunts vampires. Her brother is back from Rome, he is a priest and in his 70's, but returns looking in his 40's! He also has company that seems to be bad news. They have brought with them a very large and uncontrollable vampire. Meanwhile Brit, Jess's boyfriend, is trying to figure out why he has these new powers and why. All the while vamps are after them, a new bad guy wants them, someone is trying to help them, and things are crazy! I can't say too much do to spoilers but it is action packed, full of surprises, new twists, and unpredictable. The characters have remained complex and true to themselves throughout the series, the plot is great and full of surprises. Enjoyed this book as much as the others. This series has been one fun ride! I reviewed this book for NetGalley.… (plus d'informations)

Grave New Day is book 3 in the vampire hunter series. You do not have to read any of the others to read this, you would be able to start right in. The main character is a female vampire that hunts vampires. She had a great partner but he is now missing. I don't want to write more on that do to spoilers. She has a bounty on her head from other vampires and there is plenty of action. She meets a strange man with incredible abilities. Once she finds her partner, he has strange powers. Together they must fight the oldest of the vampires to save their closest friends. I can't say much here so it sounds dull but trust me, it is so filled with excitement. The characters are well developed, plot is action packed, twists and turns, surprises everywhere, and a little romance in the mix. The book never gets dull. I read book 2 and 3 in one sitting. You will want to read this series! I reviewed this book for NetGalley.… (plus d'informations)
