Arabella Fulton (1844–1934)

Three Stars ::: Despite the fact that this book truncates the interesting and valuable story of Arabella Fulton, it remains well worth reading. The narrative is engaging and gives a different perspective from the typical (although grantedly interesting) diary records of the day.

Although they (perhaps at the publishers urging) mangle the story, McKeever and Greenberg do a nice job in presenting brief background material. A decent map would have been helpful.

Note: While I did not find any map that I can recommend, I would direct anyone interested in old maps to the David Rumsey Historical Map Collection accessible via the internet; or even the Library of Congress' collection.
