Michael Fuller

A very well written account how someone brought up in care and from an ethnic minority background, overcame those disadvantages to rise through the ranks of the police force. Michael Fuller become the first Chief Constable from an ethnic minority at 45. The racial abuse he suffered throughout his police career, even when quite senior, from fellow police, was unbelievable, but never deterred him. The epilogue when he searches for answers about his family and the reason he was laced in care are quite moving. He was very fortunate to be placed in a very caring environment and encouraged to study, unlike some of his contemporaries in care. Highly recommended reading in these times of tension over Black Lives Matter issues, on which the author has forthright views I believe (not explored in this book but I've heard him interviewed on tv).… (plus d'informations)
