Harry W. Fritz is a Professor and Chair of the Department of History at the University of Montana, where he has taught Montana and U.S. history since 1967. He has written numerous articles and book reviews for publications such as the Montanan, Montana Magazine and Montana: The Magazine of Western afficher plus History. Professor Fritz has given speeches for local, state, and professional conferences. He is a member of the American Historical Association, Organization of American Historians, and an Associate of the Institute of Early American History and Culture. Among his many honors is the 1999 UM Distinguished Teacher Award, the University of Montana William Farr is a Professor of History at the University of Montana in Missoula, where he has taught since 1967. He is the Associate Director of the O'Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West.
