3483. A Brief History of Central America, by Lynn V. Foster (read Sept 5, 2001) This is not a bad book, tho the first two chapters, covering the time before 1492, were dull reading for me. But it got better as it went along. I thought maybe the author was a little more leftist than am I, tho I was a little more conservative in the later 1980s and early 1990s than I was after the GOPs took over Congress in 1994. This book was published in 2000 and at that time every country in Central America had democratic elections and representative governments--for the first time! This was a book that told me things I had not known--which was why I read it, of course.… (plus d'informations)
