Military Vehicles of the World covers, in great detail, the majority of tracked and wheeled cargo vehicles to be found in front line army service throughout the world. not having the power or charisma of the main battle tank or other armoured fighting vehicles, the supporting cargo transport is the workhorse on which every army is dependent. Lack of high mobility tactical support vehicles, which perform a vital role in the support of mechanised units, could have a detrimental effect on the performance of those units. For example, without cross-country vehicles, Allied armoured and artillery formations could rapidly run out of ammunition and fuel with little chance of being resupplied, taking into account the Russian superiority in tactical strike aircraft and the effect their attacks will have on the existing European road structure.
This second edition of Military Vehicles of the World has been considerably revised and updated to take in all the new vehicles and new marks of the old to give comprehensive coverage. In conjunction with Ian Allan's Armoured Fighting' Vehicles of the World, Artillery of the World and Infantry Weapons of the World it completes a quartet covering all current military equipment in a depth that is not possible in a single volume. With the standard 'of the World' format of a photograph for each vehicle, a detailed specification where available and a short discussion on the merits of each, Military Vehicles of the World is the perfect textbook for enthusiast and professional.

A book I have only because in my work as a peace and human rights advocate I sometimes have to identify these nasty killing machines. But it serves its purpose.
