Lots of interesting stories and examples drawn from years of research and experience in analyzing projects. Far better insights than most books on business or management.

This book about project is written by a professor whose life work is dedicated to the matter.

It is well articulated, well documented and is useful to everyone, project manager or not.

I appreciated the honesty of the author who presents a best argument against his own and proceeds to using data to showcase defend his approach.

Think slow, act fast.

Who would have thought that a book about project management could prove to be both thought-provoking and entertaining. Bent Flyvbjerg has collected the stories of thousands of projects and analyzed the factors that made them a success or a flop. This book distills his conclusions about how to make big projects successful and illustrates his points with examples ranging from movie making to building an airport terminal. This book would be useful and interesting for anyone interested in how projects get done.… (plus d'informations)

Pretty interesting outline of the deficiencies of modern social science and some suggestions for remedies. Strangely, the book starts off with a long-winded account of human learning which seems to be off the topic and isn't of much use in the latter parts of the book. So it's not a well-structured argument, but nevertheless worth reading.
