Hans Flück (1901–1985)

I've read quite a few herbals and books that mention medicinal use of herbs, and this one must be one of the best. Whilst the original text is quite old, it was written with a critical medical practitioner's eye, and so doesn't just repeat every old wives tale and unsubstantiated claims. Instead it looks at what the potential active ingredients are and how they can be used by the amateur (and indeed whether they should be - some things are noted as being very toxic and should only be used under medical instruction).
