Rachel and Lewis get to hear a story from their grandma, but it is a sad story. Grandma has a small feather pillow, and that pillow has a long story and journey that goes along with it. This is a touching story about a a grandmother who explains the importance of a feather pillow that was once a feather comforter keeping her warm while hiding out from the Nazis.

Grandma tells her grandchildren the history behind a very special feather pillow. She tells about when she was a young girl her family had to go into hiding to escape persecution form the Nazis and the feather comforter is what kept warm while in hiding. The grandchildren also learn how the comforter had become the pillow that it is today.
The illustrations of this book are a nice support to the text of the story. The topic of the story lends itself more to upper elementary.
