I would've enjoyed seeing an entry on South Carolina painter Jonathan Green but I suppose the history couldn't be absolutely exhaustive.
Credit goes to the East Cleveland Public Library for displaying this book on top of their magazine shelves.
I am not a art fan. I feel that I am not smart enough to appreciate what the artist is creating. That all changed when I read this book. I learned not just art history but African American history as well. How they intertwined was fascinating. I now love art and embrace it when I see it.
