- He was born June 10, 1922, in Deshler, Neb., to Justinus G. and Dorothea U. (Jahn) von Fange. He was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. William Cholcher at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He was a 1945 graduate (B.SC. in Ed.) of Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Neb., and taught in Lutheran elementary schools in San Francisco, and Concordia Colleges in Seward, Edmonton, Alberta, and Ann Arbor for a total of 44 years. He served as academic dean and in other administrative positions, and was professor of psychology. After retirement in 1987, he wrote and lectured extensively on the early Earth within a biblical framework as described in Genesis. In 1994 he was given the Christus Primus Award from Concordia University, Ann Arbor.
