A little fox finds himself hungry, cold and alone at the North Pole. He pokes through the snow over and over trying to find food until finally he pokes through and gets stuck. He is rescued by a kind stranger and they become fast friends. But, who could this stranger be?
The author and illustrator combine soft colorful illustrations with a simple narrative text to create a story of friendship and kindness. The author uses varied fonts to draw attention to the text. She also uses a rich vocabulary including onomatopoeia. This book would be a great holiday read aloud for preschool and kindergarten visits and storytime. This book is a refreshing take on the typical Santa stories similar to Eric Carle’s Dream Snow. The reader is left guessing who the stranger is until the end.… (plus d'informations)

Bright, highly detailed illustrations show the continuous hustle and bustle of night. The story explores with brief text a wide variety of jobs that carry on during the night hours. For those families with a parent whose work involves night work, this will be invaluable in helping the child understand the multifaceted work of night. For other children, it will help them learn that while they sleep others are keeping the world safe, clean, fed, etc.

If you wanted a pony and saw one in the grocery store, wouldn’t you take charge and lead the pony out of the donuts section and claim it as your own? Kizzy did all that, especially since she always wanted a pony. Her friend Pawel is more sensible, especially since Kizzy lives in an apartment and it will be difficult to take care of a pony but also because there are chores to do, homework to finish and those don’t include taking care of a pony. He does help her keep the pony, which she named appropriately Donut, a secret. That is not an easy task since it eats a lot and poops that much more.
Small font and the descriptive language makes this book an excellent read for those readers that need to be challenged or higher grade horse lovers. The author of the Mango & Bambang books created another book full of humor and imaginative scenarios. The black and white illustrations sprinkled throughout the story, depicting a girl of color, makes this adventure lively and dynamic. It shows that dreams can come true no matter how far-fetched.
