Susan's safe harbor par Katherine Wigmore Eyre
Lovely book and wonderful illustrations. Sweet story of a girl learning and adapting to a new neighborhood. I enjoyed it a lot and will share with my Vintage Book Circle friends. Some of the regular making friends sort of thing, but also so cliff hangers and page turning adventure, too. I was unfamiliar with this author, but will seek out more of her work.
SCANDAL - diverted my mind while my body recovered from 50 miles of backpacking. Enjoy that the back cover advertises "A fascinating story that captures the magic of San Francisco in the eighties…" and they mean the 1880's. Buuuut drivel.
I read this from our town library when I was a teenager...a fantastic gothic, wonderful language and plot!
