This is supposed to be an introduction to German children's literature, but the writing style is so academically complex and involved (in a fashion typical of some German literary critics and philosophers) that the amount of time, energy and frustration required does not lead (at least for myself) to an enjoyable and even enlightening reading experience. The information contained in the book is both interesting and, and indeed, valuable, but obtaining and comprehending the latter is very very hard work. Even if you are fluent in German (as I am), this book is tough going, and there are other introductions available (including in German) that are not written in this complicated a style.… (plus d'informations)
