In the convoluted world of the Zenescope Wonderland timeline, this one-shot appears after Clash of Queens, Asylum, and Wonderland ongoing issue 23 (Wonderland vol.5). It is also part of the Age of Darkness crossover event (and can also be found collected in Age of Darkness vol.3). The Dark Queen and the Trickster (last seen in Clash of Queens) visit Calie (last seen in Wonderland issue 22) and Violet (last seen in Wonderland Asylum) and make a few predictions about their upcoming battle, and to demand their compliance of course. Following on from the original trilogy (Return to Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland, Escape From Wonderland), the crossover Dream Eater Saga vols.1 & 2, Wonderland Annual 2012 and Wonderland (ongoing) vols.1-4, the story of Calie and Violet continues as they stop running from the forces of Wonderland choose to fight back. At the end of vol.4, Violet had gone on ahead into Wonderland and her story was told in Wonderland Asylum. Calie and Violet are reunited halfway through the present volume (in issue 23). The one-shot Wonderland Age of Darkness happens at this point too. So I think does Clash of Queens, which is kind of weird, because this whole volume turns into another Clash of Queens as Diamonds and Clubs go up against Spades for the final victory of Wonderland. This volume concludes the Raven Gregory era (even though 80% was written by Eric Esquivel) and brings the slightly messy ongoing series to a reasonable break so far.
