This immensely helpful book was such a great resource that my district's gifted ed department ended up purchasing it for every AIG teacher! It is a great look at how to make coteaching and collaboration work between the AIG teacher and classroom teachers. The collaboration piece can be tough and this book is a great tool to help make that happen!

This book is primarily for educators teaching gifted students, and isn't meant to be a parent resource. Heavily researched and thorough, it's a helpful guide for those developing curriculum and determining how best to meet the needs of their gifted and 2E students. It's full of examples and rationale for differentiation and how to implement it. Recommended for these admins and educators!

I requested this book for a few reasons: 1) As a child, I was involved in several gifted education programs at my public school, and I was a part of the honors program as a university student, and 2) my partner is studying education and has similar experience in gifted education programs. Mofield and Phelps's book is well organized and well designed, and I was pleased to see a chapter specifically addressing gifted education in regard to students from diverse backgrounds.

Differentiation is one of the most challenging aspects of teaching gifted students. The authors delve into differentiation offering strategies to accomplish this task. In addition to teaching strategies, this book also offers ready-made resources that can be used by the classroom teacher.
