The Discovery of the Unconscious: The History and… par Henri F. Ellenberger

This book was recommended to me by a staffer at the CG Jung Institute of NYC many years ago as I began to explore Jung's personality types/archetypes. I've been reading it on and off since the 1990s. While Morton Hunt's The Story of Psychology has decidedly little information on Jung, this very readable volume by Ellenberger focuses on Jung, Adler, Janet, including Freud and others dating back to Mesmer, making it a desirable companion.
An integrated view of man's search for an understanding of the inner reaches of the mind. Ellenberger follows the long chain of development - via the exorcists, magnetists, hysterics and hypnotists - that led to the fruition of modern psychiatry in the work of Freud, Jung and Adler.
