Kurt Eichenwald has been selected by The Journal of Financial Reporting as one of the nation's most influential business reporters, and has twice in the past three years won the prestigious George Polk Award for excellence in journalism. Eichenwald is a two-time winner of the George Polk Award for Excellence in Journalism in 1995 and 1998, for articles about the dialysis industry and fraud at the nation's largest hospital company, Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation. He was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2000, along with his Times colleague Gina Kolata, for an investigation of medical clinical trials.
