This collection of poems are an excellent source of teaching figurative language. Every poem has either rhyme, homonyms, or some form of figurative language. This is a good resource to have in the classroom, especially during a poetry or figurative language unit.

This book is filled with all sorts of traditional fantasy stories. None of the stories had a twist they all were just how I remembered from my childhood. I choose Cinderella to write about. It starts out with a girl whose life is perfect until her dad remarries a wicked lady. The new wife and her evil daughters were mean to Cinderella. They took her nice clothes and made her wear rags and made her clean up the house and be at their beck in call. The prince in the town was throwing a ball to find a bride and Cinderella's god mother comes in the picture and does her magic and Cinderella is the pricess of the ball. She looses her glass slipper on her way home and the prince searches for weeks for the girl who owned the shoe and when he came to where Cinderella stayed he saw that it was a perfect match ad rescued her from her evil step mother and step sisters.

I have always enjoyed Cinderella. This book touches my heart because it gives hope when you are haveing a rough time.

I would have this book in my classroom library and I would read it aloud to my students. It would also be fun to act it out.
