Brilliant. This book talks about so much more than just a way to tell the future. It is a way to re-discover yourself and consider your life in the light of age-old powerful archetypes that reflect aspects of your personality that you need to pay attention to.

I would highly recommend this book to students of tarot. Discovering the surprising depth in the text is a classic case of not judging a book by its cover. The authors do a wonderful job of synthesizing both practical, historical and esoteric information for card readers. Each card in the tarot deck has a section and, unlike many other books, the pips are treated with a respect equal to the majors and the court cards.

The authors choose to compare three different modern/classical decks, the Rider-Waite, the Morgan-Greer, and the Aquarian, in their analysis of each card. Brilliantly they also chose to include a gray-scale reproduction of each card so the reader can see the image that is being referred to and compare and contrast each style. Anyone trying to study the tarot will easily find reflections of primary or older sources on the cards, as well as interesting new insights, in the narrative that accompanies each card and the plain language explaining possible meanings and esoteric symbolism.

Besides accessing this book to further ones study or enrich ones interpretation of the cards, I would also recommended it as a resource for deciding on which deck to purchase and work with. There are thousands of decks available on the market today and this book can help one decided which traditional symbols, colors and layout one may want to look for in a modernized or stylized deck.
