Margaret Durrell (1920–2007)

The style of the story changed from a more descriptive story of what was happening at the start to a more internal writers view in the latter part. I did enjoy the trials and tribulations of being a landlady for a bording house in the late 1940s. Her lodgers did appear to be quite odd at times. Her famous brother, Gerald Durrell, does make several appearances and leaves a collection of monkeys, who escape to make disorder around the neighbourhood.
