This is the second book in the series, I have read book 1 and really liked it so was eager to start this one.

I liked Rye, she reminds me a lot of me when I was a child, quite a rebel. The Luck Uglies although being outlaws I did like them, they were only sticking up for themselves and their people really. This book was just as exciting as the first with lots of action and adventure, not so much magical things going on but all the same it was a great read.

The characters were developed more in this book so we got to know more about them and Rye is a strong and loveable heroine.

This children’s fantasy has been written very well and I am sure children that read it will love it.

I was looking for a book that would keep me reading like I did with Harry Potter. This book did that for me. It was a page turner that I couldn't stop reading. It took 3 days because I had to make myself stop reading it and go to bed at night so I could work in the morning. Rye is a character I could relate to. She was growing up with just her mom and her little sister. She was a little clumsy and was afraid to do things. She wasn't a character that could do everything and had no fear. She was a real 11 year old girl that was just trying to follow her mother's rules while still rebelling a little. She has her best friends, Quin and Folly, who stand by her side as well as challenge her. This book has adventure, mystery, things that aren't what they seem to be, and family. This book is my new favorite of 2021 and I know I will be reading the series as well as rereading it.… (plus d'informations)
