Tyler's family has moved to a small country town from London and when Summer holidays come around, he is bored as he has no new friends to hang around with. The only thing he likes doing is swimming at the local lido (outdoor pool). A scruffy looking girl with tatts called Spider approaches him and asks him to teach her swimming. He agrees but everyone else in his life - his parents and his new "girlfriend" Michele think its a bad idea. What is Spider's real story? Why is she so reluctant to talk about her family and where she lives?

Engaging enough story with Spider's Geordie accent written phonetically so you can actually hear her voice when she speaks in the book. I'm not sure that Aussie teenagers would understand the accent. Tyler's ill fated night in Leeds when he tries to find Spider who is SPOILER ALERT Living on the streets is quite gripping.
