A lot of research and heart went into this book. This very sad story is the full package of a true crime book. We actually learn what happened, how people went about solving the crime, and finally getting some ounce of justice to a family's unthinkable loss. The inclusion of both professionals and amateurs alike who contributed to solving this case was especially interesting. Difficult story to read about, but I appreciated that it wasn't a glorification of a horrible crime and instead focused on the investigation to solve it.… (plus d'informations)

Generally I like books with a lot of dialogue, this book , although it had very little dialogue, keep me interested throughout the book. The story is very interesting and sadly very true. It is hard to believe that an 11 year old child can just disappear and never be seen alive again, but it has happened to Jacob Wetterling and will happen again to an unsuspecting child. This story is so sad. Kudos to the author Robert M Dudley and to the law enforcement teams who never gave up. Read it...it will make you think!!!… (plus d'informations)

Such a sad story and I think the saddest part of all was that the killer was able to make a plea. He ruined the lives of so many people that his apology just rang false. It's interesting to read that it took amateur sleuths figuring out who was guilty and passing that information off to the police and FBI. I am so thankful that the family at least had closure and were able to lay Jacob to rest. They will never get over what happened but at least they no longer have to wonder and worry.

I received this from LibraryThing Early Reviewer for an honest review.
