This book is at the top of my favorites list for a few reasons: I LOVE books that go through the alphabet, as they help children learn their letters, and it was about a Jewish Holiday. I am not Jewish, so I do not know much about it, but I am always interested in learning. This book showed me many things that I was unaware of. This would be a great writing model for children, as it has a focus on the letters of the alphabet and is not in the typical paragraph format. I thought this was an average book for a variety of reasons. This book is an alphabet book introducing Jewish holidays and their customs. There is an informative section detailing the origins and history of holiday observances, a glossary of holiday terms, and a pronunciation guide. I think this is very helpful because a lot of the words/holidays throughout the text are very hard for young children to pronounce. The language is sometimes a little too descriptive so I think that why an informative section is needed. The writing of the book was organized in the ABC format going through a holiday or custom that dealt with each individual letter of the alphabet. The illustrations were colorful and vibrant and did a good job of aiding the text for each individual page.
