Published in 1961, The Easter Dinner is an engaging story of the Italian underground in Rome during WWII. The characters are vibrant and the story is well-written with a wicked streak of humor and humanity. While reading I kept thinking what a good film this book would make. A little research shows that it was made into a film in 1962 called ‘The Pigeon That Took Rome,’ starring Charlton Heston. I think it would be worth seeking out, as the book is.
