Forever Free by Hope Toler Dougherty is a Contemporary Romance. This book is the fourth book in the Forever series. It centers around Heath Daniels and Phoebe Sinclair. He volunteers for manual labor to battle issues from his past. She works to combine her love of flowers with her love of teaching. When their worlds collide, their lives become interesting.

I love how the author develops both the characters and the storyline. While you could read this book independently, I recommend reading the books in order, so you appreciate how the characters develop throughout the stories.

So, watch Forever Free by Hope Toler Dougherty if you want a Contemporary Romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

This is a beautiful story of redemption and forgiveness . I adored learning more about running a farm filled with flowers that bring beauty to the world. The characters oh my are they good. Phoebe and Heath are dynamic together. The author is very well versed in creating depth to her characters.

Phoebe has this dream to make Honeysuckle Farm a place to teach about flowers as well as sell them. It is hard work but she gets joy from hard work and being around her grandpa. I liked how she is persistent in making the farm a success yet she has flaws of being a bit unsure of herself. Her confidence is lacking but along the way maybe someone will be able to help her out.

Heath is not really a complicated character just has this guilt he carries around. An accident that happened years ago still affects him even today. He refuses to allow anyone to get close to him for fear of losing them. As he volunteers at Phoebe’s grandpa’s farm, they start to build a friendship. Heath needs to keep busy so he won’t slip back into drinking again.

I liked how Heath used his business background to help Phoebe develop programs to bring people to the farm. I would love to be there as the food truck set up and feel the excitement from the families as they get ready to watch fireflies dance in the sky.

What I like best about this story is how the author illustrates how our guilt can keep us locked up in depression, being alone and bottling up anger. Heath is harsh towards Phoebe at times which causes friction between the two. Surrendering to God is the only way to be free. The ending is sweet and shares how God can heal a broken heart while allowing forgiveness to happen.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Heath and Phoebe are acquaintances that end up working together and it’s a slow burn romance that I wish was a little quicker. Though I have read other books in this series, this novel took me a bit to get into. I didn’t immediately feel vested in Phoebe and her big plans for the farm, though I did like the overall premise, which is what kept me reading on.

Though the character development was mostly there, there was nothing that kept me truly tethered to these characters. The plot felt too predictable and sadly I didn’t care enough about these characters to care about their plight for the majority of the novel. Both Heath and Phoebe’s stubbornness and emotions are all over the place, taking the reader on quite the emotional rollercoaster, almost to the point of me getting sentimental whiplash. I would’ve liked to have seen more focus on the events that happened at the farm as well as the world they inhabited, and a little less on Heath and Phoebe’s relationship, though I will say that the imagery was amazing and took me to a world that I have never had the opportunity to experience first-hand.

I loved seeing a happily ever after, but I do feel like the ending was rushed, which was disappointing, especially since there were several slower parts in the novel that needed a little extra oomph. After all we’ve went through with these two, I was craving more than a few brief paragraphs, but I will say it was still a satisfying conclusion, nonetheless.

All in all, this was a heartwarming story that takes you on quite the emotional journey, and it was a nice literary escape. The characters did eventually win me over and it was great to be in their world.

*I have reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher through JustRead Tours. All views and opinions expressed are completely honest, and my own.

Forever Free is a heartwarming story that centers around Heath Daniels and his attempts to atone for the mistakes from his past. Working hard and staying busy seem the place to start but choosing to work with Phoebe Sinclair may not be his best choice. She also has issues, she needs to be in control, and it doesn't take long for the two of them to clash!

Honeysuckle Farm is a lovely setting and Phoebe and Heath are both great characters but the most endearing character in this story has to be Phoebe's grandfather. Dempsey Stewart is a romance-loving, piano-playing optimist who isn't above matchmaking!

Guilt, grief, a return to faith, and the power of healing are just a few of the powerful topics in this inspiring story. This has been a wonderful series and I can't think of a better way for Hope Toler Dougherty to end it! I recommend Forever Free to all who enjoy contemporary Christian romance.

I received a complimentary ebook from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.
