In Air Combat, veteran and military author Robert F. Dorr has collected dozens of interviews from combat veterans who have faced the enemy in the skies above-from the first days of World War II to the current war on terror. Each story offers a firsthand account of what it's like to be in the thick of the fight, describes the history, strengths, and weaknesses of each man's plane in detail, and offers readers a rare glimpse into the minds and hearts of those who dare to fight in the air.

Válka reaktivních stíhaček, i tak se dá nazvat konflikt na Korejském poloostrově. Autoři se ovšem nezabývají pouze stíhacími esy - americkými a sovětskými - letajícími na MiG-15 a F-86 Sabre..

Do not waste your time.
Page 11, "considered to be a maintenance nightmare by many" with no attribution as to those many might be. The author then lists issues that were common to all US fighter aircraft of the day. The list included electrical system and engine cooling. The drive shaft, which actually give little to no problems in service is also listed as a problem which makes me question their source.

Page 15, "The aircraft has a better availability than the P-38 or P-40." Better availability or maintenance night mare? And a direct conflict with the comment on page 11. The authors seem confused and that along with things like a few inane photo captions make this the first walk-away and don't waste your time book I've read in years.… (plus d'informations)
