La verdad no termina nunca (Áncora & Delfin) par Sergi Doria
The second in Sergi's planned trilogy. It started off much better than the first, and the ending was okay. The literary trick of finding a manuscript was forced, and the way it was written (exactly as the novel is written, including dialog) made it clunky. I was confused by the political party references (mea culpa) and the coincidence of the protagonists all being tied together seemed contrived as well. A couple of nice phrases, and less elipses, thank god! Though the editor and his "ejem" ing was annoying.

No digas que me conoces par Sergi Doria
Sergi has too much knowledge, has too many facts rolling off the tip of his tongue, although he tries to keep a handle on it, the facts take over the fiction. Reads as if he were following the pattern set by La sombra del viento. So much prefer his journalism. Prose is clunky and predictable. And if I see one more ellipsis I'm going to spit. Biography of a character in 1920's Spain. Costumbrista atope.
