• Unique selection of 19th-century photographs of Japan, many of which are shown here for the first time

• Lavishly illustrated, with an extensive introduction on the historical context

A (short) history of the Russo-Japanese war and its treatment in art, newspapers, etc.

A superb collection of images including postcards, photographs, woodblock prints, etc.

This is another superbly produced publication from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. If
the quality of their publications is anything to go by, the citizens of Boston are very lucky
to have such a superb museum in their midst...
