She starts with a quote from Derrida that appears to be bat-shit crazy and then writes an essay on vaguely the same theme. And at the end Derrida's words are a bit clearer but I also get the impression that she is trying to tone down Derrida and that bat-shit crazy is what Derrida actually intended. She really should have kept closer to the text.

I have read some late Derrida, so I picked up this book to help me with his early work on language, writing, and speech, which I have always been hesitant to approach at all. This book was helpful in giving me more footing to begin from, but the examples used to explain Derrida were really uninteresting (for example, using gay marriage to discuss Derrida's approach to law and justice).

Deutscher writes clearly but without the energy or enthusiasm that made 'How to Read Wittgenstein' so much fun… (plus d'informations)
