B-58 Hustler Units (Combat Aircraft) par Peter E. Davies

Seeing as the machine in question had no combat history, much of the focus that Davies brings to this booklet are the controversies that afflicted the "Hustler' in service. While there isn't much statistical evidence that the plane was a "widow maker," there is also no denying that it was an expensive machine that gave up a lot of tactical flexibility for its blinding speed. Apart from that, this is another typically good work from the author.

B/EB-66 Destroyer Units in Combat (Combat Aircraft) par Peter E. Davies

Peter Davies seems like one of the more reliable authors in Osprey's stable, and this booklet is another fine example of his work. While all aspects of machine's service are covered, the guts of this number in the "Combat Aircraft" series is the coverage of electronic warfare during the Vietnam War. Considering the period covered, the numerous color photos are almost more valuable than the color profiles that Osprey is know for.

F-4 PHANTOM II vs MiG-17/19 * Válka ve Vietnamu… par Peter Davies

Knížka poskytuje čtenáři napínavé líčení vzdušných soubojů pilotů nepřátelských stran a zároveň detailní technické popisy letadel, v tomto případě hlavního stíhacího letounu Spojených států ve válce ve Vietnamu F-4 Phantom II a jeho protivníků sovětské výroby, zprvu MiG 17 a od roku 1972 také modernějších MiG 19, které používalo Vietnamské lidové letectvo. Ačkoliv se většině nezúčastněných pozorovatelů jeví válka ve Vietnamu jako konflikt, ve kterém světová supervelmoc nedokázala potlačit špatně vyzbrojenou guerillovou armádu, letecká válka přinesla na obou stranách přímé nasazení nejmodernější techniky. Rovněž se stala laboratoří pro technický pokrok, jehož výsledky se využívají v různých vojenských systémech světa dodnes.
