Downright adorable, highly entertaining, and has some wonderful Where's Waldo-style spreads chock full of chickens doing all kinds of wacky things! I can't wait to read this one to my nephews. :)
What a great book. This book is not sing-song at all. It has a heartbeat all its own. It reads to a drum cadence that always hits the beat. The rhymes work, and it’s a joy to read out loud. I want to do this at a Storytime. Plus learning about some of the various ghosts in the White House, was a fun little extra.
As a history nut, and someone who dreams of going to D.C. someday, I thought this book was great. I loved the homages, the legends of paranormal behavior, that take place at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The red room, the paintings, it is all easily recognizable to readers.
It's long textually, but there are rhymes so that does help with cadence and flow. And I also appreciated that this was the author's true to life experience (in some ways) when he visited the White House in 2009. You'll notice Barack and Michelle Obama's presence =)… (plus d'informations)

I like jazz music.
I like books that rhyme.
This book touches on all three notes. I hope readers of this book take time to read the end papers....because they will find biographies of the jazz greats mentioned in this book. It will help certain phrases make more sense.
Now indeed, this book might appeal more to an adult than a child. However, even as I read to myself, I could not help but sing it in a ragtime beat. There is FUN that can be had--you just have to give it a try.… (plus d'informations)
