A very valuable and unique take on the mafia from someone who understands the what, why, how and whom. The author's approach is an explanation with context as well as a history, and as such is very well researched and very well written. Read as part of my family history research and I found it very useful. The author has included many new sources of information for my purposes, and that alone is much appreciated.
