Thomas Quinn Curtiss (1915–2000)

Biography of the actor, screenwriter and film director. The author appears to have been a close friend of von Stroheim's, and I think to that extent, it lacks a certain level of objectivity; the book is extremely sympathetic to the subject, and in the accounts of the disputes von Stroheim had with studio managements, it takes his side. There's a wealth of good illustrations, which certainly helps, but you should take this book somewhat cautiously.

Bound editions of magazine edited by Nathan and Mencken before they founded the American Mercury. Pagination is inconsistent so I'm not certain whether complete editions of the magazine are included or only selected pages. One cover included. Dates range from 1919-1923.
