Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read and review Paige Cuccaro's newest book. What an interesting shifter romance. We start off with Kate, an independent young woman who runs a diner and has been battling with millionaire Jack, the mogul who's bought her building and is trying to evict the diner if they can't come up with a hefty new rent. They're both fairly independent characters, and we soon find out that Jack needs to find himself a bride if he wants to assume his position as Alpha wolf. You can imagine where things go from there.

I found the hero selfish and he stayed away too long when he made his choice. Didn't like him at all.

Kept me entertained

This was an exciting story to read. A fun world to enter. I loved the idea. Many of the passages were enticing. My favorite ones were all the main character's interactions with Tommy. Eli really intrigued me. He has promises of an internal struggle, which might create future tension as the series progress. Long fight scenes, which I mostly glazed over. I enjoyed the tension between characters. A bit steamy, but nothing inappropriate. Casual swear words. The author did repeat a few phrases and favorite words. It was tiresome, but forgivable because the story made up for it. Four stars means I'd read the rest of the series if I ran out of five star stuff. Definitely a read young adults looking for paranormal adventure would enjoy.… (plus d'informations)

Commencement by Paige Cuccaro is a fun introduction to the world of Emma Jane Hellsbane, Nephilim.
We first meet Emma as a senior in college. She's got all the things a senior needs, including a hunky boyfriend. But Emma has one thing a senior can do without, she can feel emotions. When Justin, her boyfriend starts acting strange and she feels a wave of slimy hatred from him, she begins to suspect something is seriously wrong. She discovers that Justin is possessed by a Jinni. And the evil creature will do anything to own Justin's body.

Although the novella is short, there's plenty of action as Emma fights to save Justin's soul. The characters are quirky and well drawn, and I highly recommend this introduction to the Hellsbane universe.

I plan to buy the first novel in the series and I highly recommend that you could too!
