Jane Crowfoot studied textile design at Winchester School of Art in the UK where she specialized in knitting. Following graduation, she worked as a freelance textile designer. She currently works for Rowan Yarns as a Design Consultant, offering hands-on advice to knitters through teaching and afficher plus demonstrations. Her recent work includes designs that have been incorporated into the books by the celebrated children's wear designer Debbie Bliss, with whom she takes regular workshops for knitters of all abilities. afficher moins

An extremely good "How To" book on finishing techniques for hand knitters.

Exactly what it says and a bit more. Divided into three parts this starts with Getting Started which has all the basic skills and then moves into Finishing techniques - the bulk of the book and then Projects which starts with a basic pattern and then shows ways in which it can be modified. The illustrations are straightforward and clear and often use a contrast yarn to highlight techniques.

I found this one so useful that I suggested that the libraries invest in a copy and I still regularly reference it. It's clear and concise and while not as comprehensive as some others of it's type would be suitable for a beginner/intermediate knitter starting to stretch their wings. The suggestions for fixing errors would be also good for beginners. Advanced knitters might find this one a little simple but as a quick reference it's clear and well-indexed.… (plus d'informations)
