A reasonable little guide to throw into a bag when out for a walk. I would have liked to have seen a bit more coverage of which of the fruits (or in fact other parts of the trees) can be used for eating; in particular for in an emergency situation.

The night call of the morepork is familiar, but what else is going on in the hidden world of the forest during the night? Kiwi pull up worms, possums chew on leaves, glow-worms glow, leaf-veined slugs slither, short-tailed bats and geckos look for sweet forest blossoms to lick. Facts about the morepork and other creatures of the night are included inside the back cover. Suggested level: primary.
