Faith based family saga.
Claire and Charlie's daughter Elizabeth marries Jeffrey, a needy man & they have two children. During the 3rd pregnancy, Elizabeth is diagnoses with a inoperable brain tumor, which Jeffrey can't handle. He takes the kids and shuts Claire and Charlie out of his life, blaming Elizabeth's parents on his woes. After Elizabeth's death, Jeffrey takes off with the kids. Although a detective tracks him down, there's nothing that can be done about him hiding the kids. Glad to see that Claire picked up her life with "foster" grandkids, and an emotional reunion with the grandkids after Jeffrey passes away and they seek out information about Elizabeth.… (plus d'informations)

This book had come so highly recommended that I moved it up on my TBR pile. It didn't disappoint, and I can see why many feel this book should be made into a movie.
Any parent would relate to the horror of waking up to find your infant gone from their crib!
That, in itself, cemented my intense interest in what happened, how the family will ever be able to move forward, and how the story will end.
The author doesn't tie up the story in a short time, the story covers several years and weaves in backstory as to why people act the way they do. And, she doesn't take the easy way out in "solving" the mystery. It's a wonderful, heartfelt, heartbreaking, and heartwarming story!… (plus d'informations)

Master storyteller Bette Lee Crosby once again presents us with an emotional story about friendship, heartache, forgiveness, and second chances at love.

Susan Robertson has just buried her husband, the worst day of her life…or so she thought. Discovering her husband’s betrayal, Susan is angry, bitter and loses the desire to live. Only when she finds herself in a dangerous situation where she must face her greatest fear does she realize she wants to live. When she begins reaching out to others, she finds a new, more satisfying, life for herself.

I could relate to the characters. Susan’s grief, anger, and despair were believable. I loved her best friend Blanche and her next-door neighbor Jamie. Everyone should have friends like them. And, of course, my favorite character was 91-year-old Nina who has been widowed four times. Nina knows how to move on from losses and enjoy life fully.

I highly recommend this highly emotional story to others.
