One of the earlier published attacks on the presidency of Franklin Roosevelt, this book concentrates on FDR's activities with respect to and on behalf of the Soviet Union. It follows Roosevelt's activities from before the entry of the United States into the war through the Yalta Conference. It argues that Roosevelt intentionally assisted the Soviet Union to the detriment of his other allies and was ever mindful of buttressing the expansionist hopes of the leaders of the Kremlin.

There is much black and white reporting here, little of nuance. I am reminded of what Whittaker Chambers once said when friends of a historical bent were bemoaning the fact that there was no definitive history yet of the role of the United States in the world. He said that such a history could not be written until "the simple fact is generally accepted that Franklin Roosevelt was an extraordinarily stupid man." In Crocker's view, that might be too charitable of a view; his picture of the man verges on treason.… (plus d'informations)
