This is a very timely book regarding the current economic situation of our world. In a very tiny volume, Prof. De Cremer succeeds at giving striking examples and analyses of ethical problems within the operation of financial organizations and how difficult it can be to overcome them. According to De Cremer the difficulty does not simply arise from superficial legal and financial arrangements but from the very nature of human psychology and its evolutionary roots. From analyzing how rocket-high bonuses given to top-performing bankers are interpreted very differently even by the same people at different times to how the manipulation of natural gas prices in EU can be seen in the light of anchoring effect (a very important effect from behavioral economics) the book is full of thought-provoking ideas related to actual problems that affect the lives of millions of people. The negative parts of the book: Some chapters are really short, so short that if you don't have some background in economics or behavioral economics it may be very difficult to fully grasp. There are also some annoying spelling mistakes so the second printing should fix those immediately.… (plus d'informations)
