Better than I'd expected. Four short romances, very Christian in orientation, but not intrusively. Predictable, but charming. I didn't spot any historical research mistakes.
It was a bit long. I was bothered by the prejudiced and stereotypical comments about American Indians. Maybe it was an accurate portrayal but then I would like an author's note about how they researched and why they chose to portray this group of people in that way.
I could not get into this book. Rose's family seems so ungrateful for her efforts at the beginning of the book that I wondered why she bothered to sell herself into servitude for them.
