This was an interesting audio book to listen to although I do have some misgivings regarding Molly's father Frank toward the end. I just can't believe that such a violent alcoholic man could be redeemed so quickly and completely without some kind of divine intervention or at the very least some serious soul searching. I think that aspect of the story could have been explored more fully. The narrator did a great job with the accents of all the characters and it was well paced. Recommended for the historical fiction genre and those who enjoy audio books.… (plus d'informations)

Very disappointing, completely unbelievable. The majority of this short story is taken up with a farcical trip to London with a horrendously unrealistic timeline, while the girl in the title features for barely a minute. Not a Quick Read that is likely to encourage anyone to read more, certainly not of this author's work

David Adams runs away from home and finds a new life away from Blackburn, leaving behind a childhood sweetheart Judy. The novel is a will-they won't-they get back together again sort of tale. The story flows fairly well and the characters are well drawn and there are various twists and turns to the plot but there was also repetition in the internal monologue the main characters went through. The reader heard much of the same musings.

I enjoyed this so much. A nice easy read full of predictability but a lovely story of triumph against adversity.
