I truly do love reading any book in this series. They're such fun that I don't feel guilty in the slightest about whatever I should be doing instead.

I loved this book. I can really relate to Drew's whiteboard to keep track of all the relationships within Lusty (and loved the comment "I'm definitely going to need another whiteboard"). I'm reading this series out of order so it was good to read of the events referenced in later books.

This story hung together really nicely and yes I'm glad I read it.

I still wish there was a way to note that a book has spanking. Technically, that is sometimes not fully BDSM, but it should be noted for those of us that have an issue with hitting. It continues to annoy me that much menage includes BDSM, as that is not required for eroticism. Or for a menage. =) If you have to include BDSM to make your book erotic you are doing it wrong.

Cheri Ambrose and her two best friends/sisters are sent into the world to fulfill a prophecy from ancient times, when in order to save their non-magical humans, magical humans had to separate from them by creating alternate universe of sorts. A few magical humans remained behind to protect their non-magical counter parts as best they could from the not so good magic users who sought to rule them. Now Cheri is in New York wait for the day when she will meet her mates and fulfill her part in the prophecy.

Max and Tony are both gifted doctors, that have been best friends since college, decide to take a vacation before starting their new jobs in a New York hospital. They don’t believe in magic and the make their own destiny for themselves. So when they see Cheri and they both feel the instant attraction, the grow suspicious of her abilities she walks away.

There is a lot to like about Passions Awakening like the fact the you actually get to hear from the bad guys and they actually are being threatening, active participants and not hiding at the end in some last ditch climax effort, oh, and nice job with the shark. There is also the fact the heroine, Cheri, actually did get up and storm away, rather than listen to her to bone heads attempt to blame her for their feelings and their magic.

What you won’t like will be the lack of numerous quote marks or even italicized mental conversations, so you would know the conversation was happening. This truly disappointed me because Morgan Ashbury/Cara Covington is a phenomenal writer but her lack of attention in adding some method of showing the conversations made her work seem lazy. For the record this author is one of my favorites so I really do hate saying such a thing since I know her attention to detail is usually spot on. With that being said it is with a heavy heart that I must say I cannot in all good conscience give this book the five-star rating that I want to give it. With some many missing quote marks or even italics to show the mental conversation I would be in the minus star ratings and I am sorry so but I just can’t do that either so I think I will leave the rating blank until I solve my dilemma because I really, really like the story line.
